AI Disclosure for Instagram Creators

Meta labels AI-generated images across Instagram and Facebook, and expects creators to disclose significant AI use. Here is what that means for your posts, reels and stories — and how to write a caption that keeps you compliant.

The current rules

Meta applies "AI Info" labels to photorealistic images it detects as AI-generated, and asks creators to disclose when they share AI-generated or digitally altered realistic content. For organic posts you typically add this in the caption; Meta also has an in-app toggle for AI content.

Example disclosures

  • AI-generated. This scene is not real.
